Volunteers Needed for the Club Open Day

Post by Sarah » Wed Jun 10, 2015 12:49 am

Hi All :D

Hope you have Saturday 27th of June in your diary for the club open day...it’s a great chance to try out new boats and bring your friends and family along. It's kicking off at 12 noon and will finish at 4pm and as always we need your help to ensure it’s a fun filled event and as successful as ever!

Here’s a rough time table of what is in store (pending changes):
12.45 Polo Display
1.30 Freestyle display
2.15 Slalom display
3.15 Polo display

There’ll also be “Come and Try it” – Adventuring Kayaking and Canadian trips running up and down the river all day for people to try out the boats.

The BBQ & Refreshments stand will be run by the Junior Wild Water team to raise much needed funds for their upcoming trip to the World Championships.

And this is where YOU come in……
Volunteers required…. (Newly joined 2015 members and existing members all welcome to help!)
Please comment below if you’re available to help out on the day, specifying your full name and the amount of time you can volunteer for (whole day, half day).

We need help with the following:

On the water volunteers:
1. Looking for AK paddlers & Canadian paddlers to run trips from 12 until 4pm.
2. Polo players for the demonstrations at 12.45 and 3.15pm
3. Freestylers for the demonstration planned for 1.30pm
4. Volunteers for the Slalom display at 2.15pm

Off the water volunteers:
1. Plenty of general volunteers to help with handing out gear and taking names for the river trips.
2. Photographer / someone handy with a camera
3. Face painter for the kids
4. A van driver to collect the marquee on Friday 26th June
5. A few strong lads or lassies to erect the marquee on the Saturday morning at 10am.

Volunteers, your hard work will not go unrewarded. We’ll feed you all some freshly cooked BBQ'D delights (including tasty vegetarian options) at 5pm when the open day draws to an end. And the volunteers evening of fun will have a theme...."Summer Party"...beach hats, sunglasses, flip flops, floral shirts, hula skirts (coconut bra optional!!!)

Parking
WWKC is asking everyone to park in the Phoenix Park to avoid congestion in the Anglers Rest car park.

Thanks in advance, your support is much appreciated by WWKC Committee and Members.

You can add me to the list of helpers.

For the recently qualified level 2 or soon to be qualified level2 your help can also be used for the shore activities

Hi Sarah

I'm a recently qualified L2 so I can help with off shore tasks.

Due to other commitments I can only stay until 1-1.30pm, but I'm happy to come in at 10am and help with the initial set up of the marquee etc.

What is the theme for the party?

We could still do with more helpers.
