Do you like the idea of going fast? Running pace, are you shy of white water? If the answer is yes, then Sprint Marathon is for you.
The idea of flat water paddling may seem a little uninteresting but it has its own set of challenges. If you came to our discipline then you would develop your forward stroke, core strength,  ultimately balance and posture. These are the foundations of kayaking as a general sport and therefore can act as a stand alone or in a mix of activities  if your paddling interests are elsewhere.
The club has a broad range of equipment ranging from the very stable K1’s, K2 and K4 through to the reactive fast sprint K1, K2 and K4 in conjunction with the wing blade paddles.
Our training is mainly on a Sunday morning usually 10am during the spring, summer and into autumn and the main paddling initiatives are for adults, fun on the flat (blueway), wavehopper training group and for the kids we have the Jon Simmonds coaching sessions and a stable K1 racing boat at the pool on a Saturday night.
This is a competition discipline and we do encourage you to compete, but hope that you aim to enjoy it before bringing home the trophies and there is a full calendar of races during the year.
The training is the mornings so it can suit and family other commitments but races are all day affairs.  However plenty of notice is often given.
